The building that houses J's Art and Soul
certainly has a history. To our knowledge it was built in
the 1930's, and served as a Methodist church for many
years. It's basement saw many boy and girl scout meetings.
It was eventually a Baptist church, and then a residence,
and for some time sat vacant except for partying kids and
the occasional bum.
When we took ownership of it in
January 2010, it had seen better days and was in need of a
complete overhaul. We hope we've done it justice. We like
to think the building itself is a work of art. The name J's
Art and Soul was picked in homage to the many who came
through those doors to attend services.
